Week 2 Wide Receiver Streamers For Fantasy Football: Deebo Samuel Is Back

If Week 1 of the NFL season is any indication, points will be aplenty all season. Let’s hope, because fantasy football is more fun that way. Especially when a sleeper like Devaughn Vele cashes in a big week, even if most of it was playing catchup. Let’s see if we can get some hits from players outside the top 36 in our fantasy football rankings now that the calendar has turned to Week 2. WR Streamers For Fantasy Football Week 1

Adonai Mitchell | Jets vs. Packers

The preseason chatter met the reality of the NFL season all in Week 1 for Adonai Mitchell. The 2024 second-rounder was a player who the beat writers saw as the clear WR2 in this offense, but Omar Cooper was lurking. Well, Cooper suffered a high-ankle sprain in the opener that could knock him out for a period of time, and that happened while Mitchell ran 81% of the routes. That equals what WR1 Garrett Wilson ran against the Titans.

This upcoming week will not be an easy one, as the Packers do come into Gotham for a tilt with the Jets. With Jordan Love coming off a 387-2 performance against the Vikings, the Packers will be looking to pass in this game that will feature them as 3.5-point road favorites. Wilson will get his for the Jets, but Mitchell is next in line for targets.

Caleb Douglas | Dolphins at 49ers

The question of who does Malik Willis have to throw to has landed on Caleb Douglas and Malik Washington. Douglas ran 86% of the routes and drew 7 targets, while Washington ran 100% of the routes and saw 8 targets. Douglas is here because he turned his targets into 5-94-0 and is rostered in just 12% of Yahoo leagues.

The assignment against the 49ers is not an easy one for the Dolphins, as the 49ers are 13.5-point favorites. That’s going to mean plenty of throwing for Malik Willis, and replicating that 16.7 ADOT from Week 1 could mean a deep connection or two.

Deebo Samuel | 49ers vs. Dolphins

On the other sideline is a different story. Deebo Samuel is no rookie, and is now in his second stint with the 49ers. Some would recommend Demarcus Robinson after he scored the TD, but the history of Deebo in San Francisco tips the scales. By no means does this mean that we can expect the glory days of his 2021 All-Pro season, but he still has some juice left to squeeze.

Against the Dolphins, Deebo should be vying for No. 2 target status with George Kittle and Christian McCaffrey. With De'Zhaun Stribling expected to miss some time, look for Deebo to at least be the WR2 for the 49ers. He ran once for 12 yards against the Rams, so that club at least is still in his bag.
